WSU President's Awards for Leadership Nominations Open

Department: Student Involvement

Do you know an outstanding student, student group, faculty member, staff member, or community organization?

You are invited to honor their leadership by nominating them today for the 2018 WSU President's Awards for Leadership.

Student recipients are eligible to apply for the $1,000 Virginia E. Thomas scholarship, and all award recipients are honored at the annual Leadership and Engagement Awards of Distinction (LEAD) ceremony on April 17, 2018, on the WSU Pullman campus.

Student nominations close Monday, February 19. All other nominations close Friday, March 9. Nominations from all WSU campuses are welcome.

Since 1996, the President’s Awards have been bestowed annually to students and others who advance leadership and engagement at WSU and beyond. Recipients of this prestigious award demonstrate exceptional leadership and service to the university and the community or support leadership development and engagement of WSU students. The 2018 award categories are student, student group, faculty or staff, and community organization.

A committee of faculty, staff and students review applicants by considering each within the framework of the Social Change Model of Leadership Development, specifically with respect to consciousness of self, congruence, commitment, collaboration, common purpose, controversy with civility, citizenship, and change.

Thank you for your commitment to honoring these wonderful members of the Cougar family!
