Summit regarding undocumented students planned

Undocumented students across the nation are on edge due to the changing political climate, prompting WSU and other higher education institutions in the state to organize a summit to examine better ways to serve them.

“Undocumented Summit: A Call to Action” will take place 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at the University of Washington’s Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center. Register online for the Undocumented Summit.

Awards reflect optimism in fraternity and sorority community

WSUs fraternity and sorority community recently received more than a dozen awards at the Association of Fraternal Values and Leadership (AFVL) West Conference in San Diego, Calif.

WSU’s United Greek Council received the Division II Multicultural Greek Council of the Year Award and is the only Multicultural Greek Council in the nation to receive the honor.

WSU student newspaper wins top award for region

The Society of Professional Journalists has named Washington State University’s student newspaper the Best All-Around Daily Student Newspaper in Region 10.

The Daily Evergreen also won Mark of Excellence Awards for Nick Sandifer’s editorial cartooning and a photo illustration by Andrew Lang. Staff members took finalist slots in breaking news reporting, general news photography, editorial writing and general column writing.

84 Percent at WSU Pleased with Roommate Matches

High roommate satisfaction is consistently one of the highlights at WSU of the annual national college experience assessment Skyfactor, formally known as the Educational Benchmarking Inc. (EBI) Survey. In November every residence hall student was invited to participate in the 100-question survey, which included four questions asking whether or not their roommate respects their private time, study time, sleep time and property.

Cougs Feeding Cougs Food Insecurity Program

It is estimated that nearly half of all college students in the U.S. are insecure about reliable access to food, and it's no different for WSU students. Student Affairs offers this program to provide eligible students with funds for use at Dining Services operations.
